The PEARL Awards, Nigeria’s foremost platform for rewarding corporate performance in the capital market, is set to hold on Sunday, 29 November, 2026, in Lagos, under the theme ‘Celebrating Excellence, Inspiring the Future.’

In a release issued by the PEARL Awards Project Manager, Olisemeka Obi, on Thursday, the President and Chief Executive Officer of PEARL Awards Nigeria, Tayo Orekoya, noted that the 2026 edition would build on the legacy of the past three decades while focusing attention on the future of the Nigerian capital market.

“The PEARL Awards have, for three decades, provided a credible platform for recognising excellence, promoting best practices, and celebrating institutions and individuals who contribute significantly to the growth of Nigeria’s capital market. This year, we are not only celebrating excellence; we are challenging the market to inspire the future,” Orekoya stated.

As part of efforts to strengthen governance and professional depth ahead of the event, three distinguished industry leaders have been inaugurated into the PEARL Awards Board. They include the Managing Director/CEO of Edfin Microfinance Bank, Bunmi Lawson; former Executive Commissioner, Corporate Services at the Securities and Exchange Commission, Ibrahim Boyi; and the Managing Director/CEO of Cowry Asset Management Limited, Johnson Chukwu.

Speaking on the appointments, Orekoya explained that the addition of the new board members reflects the organisation’s commitment to deepening expertise and leadership capacity. He expressed confidence that their wealth of experience would add significant value toward positioning the awards for greater impact across the financial sector.
