Unilever declares N11bn dividend on N119bn H1 revenue
Unilever Nigeria Plc has announced a 22 per cent growth in revenue for the first half of 2026, reaching N119.9bn.
In a financial statement released to the Nigerian Exchange on Tuesday, the consumer goods giant also declared an interim dividend of N2.00 per 50 kobo ordinary share, bringing the total interim dividend payout to shareholders to N11.5bn.
The performance reflects sustained topline growth compared to the N98.1bn turnover recorded in the corresponding period ended 30 June 2025.
Gross profit expanded 30 per cent to N54.7bn, up from N42.1bn reported in H1 2025, pushing gross margin up to 45.6 per cent.
The company recorded a net profit of N15.6bn for the period, compared to N14.4bn achieved in
H1 2025.
Commenting on the financial results, the Managing Director of Unilever Nigeria, Tobi Adeniyi, attributed the resilient performance to disciplined operational execution, route-to-market strategies, and strong brand fundamentals.
“We delivered a strong first half in a challenging operating environment, marked by geopolitical volatility, rising input costs and pressure on consumer spending.
“Despite these headwinds, we continued to grow by staying focused on what we can control: serving consumers better, driving optimal distribution via route to market excellence, delivering impactful innovations, and executing with discipline” Adeniyi said. Adeniyi noted that the growth recorded across the company’s product portfolio reinforces its strategy of providing relevant, high- quality products to Nigerian households.
Highlighting Unilever’s century-long footprint in the country, the chief executive expressed optimism about the long-term prospects of the domestic market.
“Beyond the numbers, this performance reflects our confidence in the long-term potential of
Nigeria.
“For more than 100 years, Unilever Nigeria has invested in local manufacturing, talent development and value creation across our ecosystem. We remain optimistic about the opportunities ahead and will continue to invest responsibly in our operations, our brands and our people as we work to Brighten Everyday Life for All Nigerians”, Adeniyi added.
The company confirmed that the N11.5bn interim dividend will be payable, subject to applicable withholding tax, to shareholders whose names appear on the Register of Members at the close of business on 31 July 2026.
Looking ahead to the second half of the financial year, the management reaffirmed its focus on building a future-fit business that drives sustainable profitability across its key personal care, beauty, and food segments.
“Looking ahead, we remain focused on winning with consumers, driving sustainable profitable growth, and building a future-fit business that delivers lasting value for all stakeholders,” Adeniyi concluded.
